Hurst Veterinary Diagnostics
Keeping an Eye on Your Pet’s Health
Whether your pet is feeling under the weather or has just come to see us for a regular wellness exam, our veterinary team uses the latest diagnostic technologies to get a closer look at your pet’s health. Mayfair Village Animal Hospital is an American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) accredited veterinary facility and offers a wide range of diagnostic services that meet the highest veterinary standards in the country. We make an effort to stay on top of the latest recommendations and best practices so that we are able to diagnose your pet’s ailments quickly, enabling us to get them the care they need fast.
We use our in-house diagnostic capabilities in the course of your pet’s regular wellness exams to keep a close eye on their health throughout their lives as part of our preventative care program. By establishing a complete record of your pet’s health, we’re better able to identify changes and early signs of disease before your pet develops health problems.
Diagnostic Testing at Mayfair Village Animal Hospital
As an AAHA accredited animal hospital, we use the latest diagnostic tools to test and treat your pets.
We offer the following diagnostic services:
- Basic bloodwork
- Fecal checks
- X-ray imaging
Radiology & Ultrasound
For the times when a physical exam doesn’t tell us everything we need to know about your pet’s condition, our team uses radiological imaging and ultrasound technology to get a look under your pet’s fur. Both x-rays and ultrasounds are completely non-invasive and pain-free, which means both imaging methods are a great option for gathering additional diagnostic information without extreme measures.
X-ray imaging is used for a closer examination of the solid or dense tissues of your pet’s body, such as bones or muscles. These highly detailed still images can be printed or viewed digitally on a computer monitor. We may use x-rays to diagnose broken bones, locate foreign objects, or identify other traumatic injuries.
Ultrasounds, on the other hand, are used for a closer examination of the soft tissues of your pet’s body, like organs and vessels. Because ultrasounds don’t use radiation to produce their images, they are safe for use on pregnant pets as well. We may use ultrasounds to inspect lumps or masses, monitor pregnancy, or examine organs for damage.
As with every service at Mayfair Village Animal Hospital, our Hurst veterinarians will do their very best to keep your pet comfortable throughout the diagnostic process. We will also take the time to answer your questions. It’s important to us that you feel involved and informed in your pet’s healthcare.
